The Blue Heeler, or Australian Cattle Dog, is a breed of herding dogs that originated in Australia for droving cattle over long distances. As with dogs from working breeds, they are energetic and intelligent with an independent streak. Heeler’s do well with structured training, otherwise they may become bored and get into mischief. They are loyal and protective, likely to become attached to their owner and want to be close at all times.
